Rom\u010devi\u0107<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foucault\u2019s genealogy as people\u2019s science<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This paper addresses the epistemological and methodological transformation by which the archeology which Foucault established in series of previous writings \u2013 The History of Madness, <em>The Birth of Clinic and Words and Things <\/em>\u2013 does not become rejected, as sometimes was thought, but is complemented with genealogy. According to Foucault from the end of 1960, the point was to test and ascertain the breaks with broad temporal units, with the totalities of culture and thus turn over history which, according to him, tried in its traditional form to remember monuments and turn them into documents, while nowadays (that is, once), he thought, history is something that turns documents into monuments evolving itself into archeology whose aim is intrinsic description of the monuments. However, the archeology, Foucault thinks, is not capable to carry out that intrinsic description unless the genealogy understood as Nietzschean <em>active<\/em> <em>histor<\/em>y (<em>Wirkliche Historie<\/em>) joins it. Without it, archeology is in danger to turn out itself in another scientific discourse, i.e. the collection of documents. Genealogy was conceived as matching scholarly knowledge with local, disqualified, underground knowledge and thus it becomes, Foucault says, <em>anti-science<\/em>. These are knowledge of people, not scholars, knowledge of \u201cpsychiatric patient, ill people, male nurses, doctors, but also parallel and marginal in comparison with the medical knowledge\u201d, so knowledge of those who are either low positioned in the hierarchy of the scientific institutions or are out of their reach. According to Foucault, genealogy is literally uprising of knowledge against centralizing and institutional effects of power of canonic science.
