Prelevi\u0107<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>TRANSHUMANISM AND ANTHROPOCENTRISM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong> Today there are much discussed questions as to whether the transhumanist scenario \u2012 in which superintelligent machines, superior to men both cognitively and physically, coexist with humans \u2012 is feasible, whether it is desirable or not, and what the position of the human species would be in such a scenario. By taking the anthropocentric nature of science as assumption (which, for instance, can be found in the work of Arthur Schopenhauer), the author assesses the desirability of such a scenario. Anthropocentrism presupposes, among other things, that scientific research is conducted in accordance with human (rational) needs, where the goal is to have as much control as possible over human&#8217;s destiny and future outcomes. Bearing this in mind, it seems that a scenario in which superintelligent machines would take the control of people was dystopian rather than utopian.
