The Concept and Meaning of Humanology
Keywords:

This paper introduces humanology as a conceptual and interdisciplinary framework for understanding the human being in the context of modern science and humanism. While traditionally defined as the science of humanity, humanology is here developed as a broader philosophical paradigm that critically examines the relationship between human nature, knowledge, and contemporary reality. The study argues that increasing objectification of knowledge and technological development have distanced scientific inquiry from its humanistic foundations, raising the question of how human-centered understanding can be restored. Humanology is thus positioned as both a reflective and integrative approach, linking insights from the humanities and social sciences to explore cognition, values, and human action. Ultimately, it seeks to reestablish the significance of the human being as both the foundation and the goal of knowledge, and to redefine the role of humanitas within the modern scientific paradigm.
